our congratulation goes out to prof shen jianxin from the ee college, who was recently elected as ieee ias member-at-large for the2019-2020 term, announced on september 18, 2018 by ieee industry applications society (ias).
the ias was seeking one candidate for the position of member-at-large on the 2019 ias executive board early this year. prof shen received a majority of 72 votes from among 95 ias eligible council members and won the position of member-at-large on the 2019-2020 ieee ias board due to his contributions to the ieee ias. prof shen, an expert in the area of electrical machines and systems, has organized a number of international conferences sponsored by ieee, won a prize paper award from ieee ias, and is currently a member of the ieee nicola tesla committee. he will also become a member of the ias board of directors beginning in january 2019.
